Note: This application cannot be used to view native Adobe Connect recordings. Adobe Connect recordings should be converted to MP4 video by the meeting owner before being viewed on mobile devices.

What’s New

May 06, 2011  Ok I figured out how to get this app to work on the iPhone. When I click the link for my class I'm sent to a screen that says download Adobe Connect or Click to open in Adobe Connect if you already have the app. HOLD down the open in Adobe Connect App. A list will pop up on your screen, then choose Open in Adobe Connect App.

Works...most of the time

We use this app for university classes and mostly have the professor speaking and sharing her screen while students write their questions in the chat box. We rarely use the raise hand feature. The program is somewhat glitchy. Our professors have to have tech-support in every session just to get it up and running and resolve issues, such as the sound cutting out or experiencing lags in sound...and when the sound comes back it comes back all at once in a rapid speech manner that cannot be followed. This has rendered some of our chat sessions useless. Also, I would love to have a feature that allows me to watch the recordings later at a higher speed, so I can skip through and more easily find the sections that are relevant to me.

Adobe Connect Mobile for iOS

I use Adobe Connect to teach online classes at the University. It is used on top of a Moodle base. It is quite effective on the computer, but it has taken quite awhile to get to a point where it is reliable. With the introduction of Adobe 8 my optimism for Adobe Connect as a viable platform for quality instruction is growing. I was hoping this update of Adobe Connect Mobile would allow me to use all of the attributes of Adobe Connect on my iPad 2. The earlier versions of Adobe Connect Mobile were very limited. Unfortunately this does not happen. You can chat with other participants in the online conference (via an iPhone sized window), but the overall usability is still very limited. It does not provide access to the various pods used for communication during the interactive sessions. Miles to go before you sleep. My guess is that we will not see a quality iPad program for Adobe Connect Mobile until the feuding between Apple and Adobe is resolved. Please put your best effort into this program as there is a rapidly growing population of students using iPad as their main means of digital communication.

The Adobe Connect meeting application is required to join, present or host a meeting if you do not have Adobe Flash Player installed or to share your screen in an Adobe Connect meeting. The application can be installed in two ways:

• It can be automatically installed during a meeting via lightning download (you will be prompted to accept the download upon attempting to screen share or use functionality that requires the application). This is the most common way to install the application.

OR

• It can be installed before your meeting, using the installers below.

For organizations that do not allow their end-users to install the Adobe Connect application via lightning download, the installers below can be used.

These installers install the Adobe Connect application for Windows and Mac.

If using Firefox on Mac OS, you must right-click on the appropriate application link below and select 'Save Page As' to download the application.

Adobe Connect meeting applications are backwards compatible with earlier versions of Adobe Connect. Please note that although there is currently no application for Linux, users on Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat and OpenSUSE) can still attend, host, or present in meetings in the browser.
